Parallel Tracks 2006-2010
By flattening or erasing descriptive information from street scenes, photography's quest for recording information is interrupted by reductivist abstraction
of the observed. What remains are interrelations of color and complex fields of structure that explore the plasticity of the picture plane. I call these images "Parallel Tracks" because of their connection to the same formal issues of shape and picture plane seen in my current paintings
