In my current paintings I create visual compositions informed by the history of art, particularly painting and photography. My fascination with nominally realistic scenes provides me with a way of exploring the abstract interrelations of color and image. Trucks, signage and street scenes are the images I use to create plasticity of the pictorial plane, a push pull that both flattens and expands the landscape.
